Bestpass Joins American Diabetes Association

May 18, 2021

Bestpass employees, customers and partners to participate in Tour de Cure

We have partnered with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) to give back to the community while also encouraging healthy activities among employees, customers and partners.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Bestpass Gives committee, will culminate in the virtual 2021 Tour de Cure ride on June 12, 2021, with more than 40 people participating on the team. Throughout the effort, Bestpass will highlight employees and drivers who are focused on improving their health, including on social media and in newsletters.

“We are grateful to Bestpass for joining our efforts to raise much needed funds for diabetes education and research in this year’s virtual Tour de Cure across upstate New York,” said Jeff Collins, executive director, ADA Upstate New York. “In addition to supporting a great cause, Bestpass is actively working to improve the health and wellness of their employees and corporate partners. We’re proud to partner with them.”

Bestpass Gives, an employee-led committee within the company, is responsible for identifying opportunities to contribute to the community in a meaningful way while also building relationships across functional teams. The committee identified raising awareness of diabetes as its focus for the second quarter of 2021.

“With some studies showing that there is a 50 percent higher occurrence of diabetes for professional truckers than the overall national average, the American Diabetes Association and its good work is a natural fit for our community efforts,” said Tom Fogarty, CEO of Bestpass. “We value our customers tremendously, and we want them to be healthy, so anything we can do to support that goal is tremendously rewarding.”

Bestpass Launches New Website and Thought Leadership Series

Latest White Paper Explains “Toll Management: Why Transponders Still Matter in a License Plate World”

ALBANY, N.Y. – Bestpass®, the comprehensive payment platform provider and leader in toll management solutions for commercial fleets in North America, recently launched a new website at bestpass.com, as well as a thought leadership series of white papers and other materials to help educate commercial fleets on the subject of toll management.

“The new website and thought leadership series represent our commitment to innovation at every level and in every aspect of our business,” said Ken Creager, Bestpass Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We will continue to push the envelope in providing toll management service and expertise to all of our customers, as well as across the commercial fleet and tolling industries.”

The latest white paper, “Toll Management: Why Transponders Still Matter in a License Plate World,” is currently available on the new website. The rise of all-electronic tolling across the United States has resulted in new challenges for commercial fleets, especially if they are heavy toll facility users with a national bartprint. Fleets can benefit from strategically deploying transponders by being able to optimize the operational cost of using toll roads, by accessing as many discounts as possible, and by receiving toll transactions more quickly.

The Bestpass white paper series offers thoughtful analysis and keen insights on the tolling industry and how tolls impact commercial fleets. The company’s blue paper series offers practical advice on how to get the most out of Bestpass toll management solutions.

The new website also offers a streamlined sign-up process for owner-operators, as well as additional resources for commercial fleets to determine the potential value of a toll management solution on their operations and bottom line.

Bestpass Launches Toll by Plate for Commercial Fleets

March 2, 2020

Toll by plate coverage to supplement existing nationwide transponder coverage

Bestpass®, a company that provides a comprehensive payment platform with a focus on toll management for commercial fleets, today announced that it has launched a toll by plate solution as a supplement to its nationwide transponder-based toll coverage. Bestpass logo blue w white

“The rise of all-electronic tolling across the United States has led to an increase in unplanned toll by plate for commercial fleets,” said John Andrews, president and CEO of Bestpass. “By combining our traditional transponder-based coverage with this new toll by plate solution, we are able to provide an even more comprehensive toll management program for our customers.”

Bestpass toll by plate coverage includes both power unit and trailer license plates. It helps commercial fleets by consolidating nationwide coverage with tolling authorities and minimizing the impact of toll by plate transactions, which includes administrative fees and complications from delayed billing.

In addition to administrative fees and delayed billing, each tolling authority has different business rules, and toll by plate can introduce significant complexity for fleets, including challenges related to trailer plates and leased equipment. Toll by plate also adds expense and increases processing time for tolling authorities.

“Our toll by plate solution facilitates greater efficiency and less cost for both our customers and the toll facility operators, creating a winning situation for all parties,” said Andrews.
